Job Summary:

D.A. Davidson & Co., a leading investment banking firm with operations primarily in the Western and Central U.S., is accepting applicants for a full-time Analyst position to begin in June 2014 for its Seattle, WA location. The Analyst is expected to work on strategic assignments assisting clients with mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, private placements and other advisory services. The Analyst is expected to commit such time as is necessary to effectively fulfill their responsibilities, which will require 65 to 80 hours per week or more (including some weekends), depending on workload. Specific qualifications and general responsibilities of the individual are included below:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or business related field (economics, science and math majors included) with a minimum 3.3 GPA

  • Ability and willingness to work long hours, nights, and weekends

  • Strong computer skill-set (Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel and PowerPoint)

  • General level of financial knowledge (financial modeling, macroeconomics, current events, etc.)

  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, verbal and written communication skills

  • Good judgment in confidential situations and ability to exercise discretion when handling confidential information

  • Previous work experience in investment banking, accounting, consulting, or corporate finance is a plus but not required

  • Strong work ethic, ability to work under pressure and teamwork skills

  • Upon hiring, the successful completion of the FINRA Limited Representative-Investment Banking Exam (Series 79) and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Exam (Series 63)


  • Provide presentation / research material for pitch books, memorandums, presentations and other projects

  • Develop financial models to analyze a wide variety of client specific projects

  • Support business development activities of senior investment bankers

  • Interact with clients on transactional and technical issues

  • Limited travel will be required
