Job Summary:

The Associate will work in Equity Capital Markets, supporting structured internal efforts to increase public equity underwriting efforts. Interaction with institutional sales, trading, research and investment banking will be a requirement and a reasonable understanding of the equity capital markets is critical. All applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree, possess at least two years prior experience within Equity Capital Markets (preferably investment banking or research) and a willingness to commit such time as necessary to fulfill their responsibilities, occasionally including evenings and weekends, depending on work load. The ideal candidate has excellent technical and analytical skills, some prior experience in the execution of public equity transactions, excellent communication skills, possesses an engaging personality, embraces the concept of working as a team and enjoys interacting with others.

Qualifications:

  • Ability and willingness to work long hours, including evenings and weekends

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 2 years prior experience with Equity Capital Markets business

  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Bloomberg, Dealogic, FactSet, Thompson One, Pivotal CRM)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Capacity to “think on your feet”

  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment with a number of diverse personalities”



Duties:

  • Support Managing Director/ECM with business development activities

  • Develop/create situational specific information for presentation/pitch materials

  • Interact with clients, internal investment banking professionals and street-side counterparts on transactional/technical issues

  • Assist/monitor firm contribution to book-building/sales effort on offerings through interaction with Equity Syndicate

  • Develop analyses to include validation, peer group, precedent transactions and specific company financial analysis
